Willie Arnold, the Administrator of Clinic Operations

Willie Arnold, the Administrator of Clinic Operations, has been at Emory Radiology for 18 years at the core of the patient experience. Prior to Emory, Willie owned an information technology (IT) company that supported small to mid-sized businesses no matter the industry. When he landed an IT consulting position with Emory Radiology, it was a blessing in disguise. He first came to Emory in 2001 on a six-month contract to work on Radiology’s IT systems. He was offered a full-time permanent position after the six-month period, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Originally from Miami, Willie used to be a store manager at Blockbuster Video—a position he credits for establishing his relational foundation and customer service skills. He was more than ready to leave the sunshine, beach-filled city he called home after high school and went on to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville where he received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management and minor in communication studies. In 2013, Willie went back to school to complete his Masters in Business Administration. When he’s not at work, he is actually a licensed Realtor and helps clients buy and sell homes in the Metro Atlanta area. His educational background and customer relations work experience all contribute to his success in his current role with Emory Radiology.

A typical day for Willie consists of first checking his emails to determine urgent and immediate needs impacting the physician practice. Then, he checks financial reports before he “officially” starts his day working through his list of projects. Right now, he’s working on clinic expansion and managing the increasing volumes of radiology.

“One of the initiatives in our strategic plan is One Emory,” shares Willie on the details of his current project. “We’ve grown so much! Being a part of bringing systems together and being able to ensure we have a consistent presence throughout all of our clinics and hospitals is an exciting challenge to bring to fruition.”

So, after 18 years with Emory Radiology, what is it that keeps Willie here? “The people.”

“The people here are phenomenal and smart. We’re very collaborative and have a mutual goal of ensuring the patient experience is one of excellence. This is why I continue to work here in Radiology!”
