Visiting Student Electives

Emory Student Electives

The Emory University School of Medicine Division of Interventional Radiology and Image-Guided Medicine (Emory IR) offers electives in interventional radiology. Emoy electives are typically offered in the second and fourth years. Emory IR participates in the Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS). Students who apply from other medical schools and wish to participate in the program should apply early as applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. A waitlist for the year is not uncommon.

Students rotate at:

Emory University Hospital

Emory University Hospital Midtown

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta*

*A separate pediatric interventional radiology elective is available. More information here.  LINK

Students will also be attending clinic with IR faculty.

Emory IR has also been involved in hosting regional and national conferences geared towards medical students with an interest in interventional radiology. Medical students attending symposia have first-hand exposure to world-class faculty and hands-on workshops with the latest devices and simulators.

Symposia will be held every year in the Spring.

Medical students have been involved in several research activities with Emory IR faculty. Research opportunities are available.
