Dr. Gopinath is an established researcher in neuroimaging. He has developed a number of techniques to facilitate neuroimaging of brain function and pathology. He has established collaborations with leading scientists from neuroscience, neurology, psychology, and statistics in service of a number of large federally-funded projects. He has participated in peer-review of manuscripts published in many leading journals in neuroimaging. He has served on NIH study sections and as a scientific reviewer for Gordon Research Conferences.

Dr. Gopinath’s research has been published in prestigious journals. His research projects include neurophysiological basis of resting state functional MRI signal, structural and functional connectivity applications to normal brain function and disease, advanced network-analysis based neurodiagnostics, translational neuroimaging, alleviation of speech-related motion artifacts in fMRI studies, diffusion tensor imaging, advanced data analysis of neuroimaging data, and multi-modal data fusion.
