Dr. Johnson is an established and dedicated emergency imager with nearly a decade of clinical experience. Administratively, Dr. Johnson is also the Director for the Emergency Imaging Fellowship and chairs both the Radiology-Emergency Medicine Operations (RADEMO) group and the Radiology-Informatics Collaboration Committee (RICC) at Emory. He is a member of several other Emory Healthcare imaging and interdisciplinary committees. He is an active member of the American Society of Emergency Radiology (ASER) and chairs the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Committee. His contributions to the Radiological Society of North American include work on the Scientific Program Committee. Dr. Johnson is a member of the editorial board for Clinical Imaging.

Dr. Johnson’s clinical expertise relates to the timely consulting and accurate image interpretation of acute and critically ill patients in the emergency setting. His teaching audience includes not only Emergency Imaging fellows and Diagnostic Radiology residents but also Emergency Medicine residents, allied health professionals and emergency nurse practitioner students. Dr. Johnson’s research interests include: imaging workflow and process improvement, resource utilization, population health management and CT techniques and protocols to evaluate acutely ill and traumatized patients
