Dr. Liang’s current research focuses on development of CXCR4-targeted small molecular drugs for therapy and diagnosis of breast cancer metastasis. He is developing positron emission tomography (PET) tracers to detect CXCR4 expression levels non-invasively in whole-body PET imaging.  Additionally, Dr. Liang is currently identifying and characterizing multidrug resistance-related and metastasis-related microRNAs as potential targets for therapy and biomarkers for predicting chemotherapeutic response for breast cancer.

  • Ph.D., University of Mediterranean Aix-Marseille II, Marseille, France.

Dr. Liang’s research projects include development of anti-CXCR4 compounds to block breast cancer metastasis, identification and characterization of microRNAs for predicting chemotherapeutic resistance of breast cancer, and development of microRNA inhibitors for metastatic breast cancer.
