ARRS Executive Council and Publications Committee Chair
Deb Baumgarten, MD, MPH, FACR, FSAR
Deb Baumgarten has been named a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society Executive Council. ARRS is the oldest and first radiology society and is dedicated to the goal of the advancement of medicine through the science of radiology and its allied sciences. Dr. Baumgarten was also named chair of the society’s Publications Committee.

Emory’s Medical Imaging Program has been named as a finalist in Aunt Minnie’s Best Radiologist Training Program, an award which recognizes its high pass rate for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and how quickly graduates advance within the radiologic technology profession.
Winship Glenn Family Breast Center Brave Heart Award

Lea Gilliland was awarded the Winship Glenn Family Breast Cancer Brave Heart Award, which recognizes high risk and community outreach work. Dr. Gilliland was the leader of the MagView upgrade and development/enhancement of the high risk and breast health program.

Mark Mullins was the recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Award by the American Alliance of Academic Chief Residents in Radiology, which “recognizes outstanding teachers in radiology as evidenced by the quality of their presentations and teaching materials; their ability to motivate learning; their effectiveness as a mentor; and the impact that their teaching has had upon trainees.”

Chuck Powell has been recognized as a finalist in the Aunt Minnie award category for Most Effective Radiology Administrator, which recognizes his excellence in managing medical imaging operations and providing coaching on leadership development and change management at Emory.

David Schuster was awarded the Winship Glenn Family Breast Center Visionary Award for being an outstanding clinician and researcher with multiple RO1s and being internationally well-respected for his work with FACBC and PET tracers. Dr. Schuster is a thought leader in molecular imaging and its application in breast cancer.
