Letter from the Chair

June 22, 2017

Dear Colleagues,

It has been a busy Spring with a plethora of radiology specialty conferences at which Emory Radiology’s innovation and impact were prominently featured. The recent American College of Radiology (ACR) meeting in Washington was a particularly notable event due to the engagement of so many of our faculty, staff, and trainees. And, of course, for the influence of our #SoMe presence; if you are not yet on Twitter, you may be missing out on important conversations about the future of radiology and health care. The annual gathering of the ACR in our nation’s capital is also a wonderful opportunity to engage in Hill Day advocacy for the issues that matter most to us and our patients.

This is also a time of graduations. We are so proud of our Medical Imaging Program Class of 2017 and wish each colleague the best in their future endeavors. Shortly it will be time to launch our senior residents as they move on to fellowships and beyond. And, of course, the annual graduation event for our RLA Fellows on June 9 was a wonderful time to learn of the class’s team projects focused on addressing departmental care delivery challenges.

As we look ahead to Summer and Fall, we are expecting more than 20 new faculty to join our department, including a new executive leader: Marta Heilbrun, MD, MS, as Vice Chair for Quality. We will also be launching our next strategic plan. Please look out for town halls near you to ensure that your voice helps to shape the next phase of Emory Radiology.

Best to all,

Carolyn
