Education is a top priority at the Emory University School of Medicine's Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences. Being one of the largest academic radiology departments in the country allows us to have access to large numbers of patients, cutting edge technology and some of the best and brightest students, trainees, and faculty. This is complemented by a friendly atmosphere and the feeling of being a “family” and we are very proud of this: being able to provide an educational environment that offers exceptional opportunities while being part of a team that you would hopefully enjoy working with.
Emory has very diverse and quite complementary venues in which to learn and practice radiology. The number and breadth of cases are exceptional. Our trainees routinely are involved with the healthcare of patients at Emory University Hospital (where our residency is centered), and (listed alphabetically) Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, Emory Clinic, Emory University Hospital Midtown and Grady Memorial Hospital. I believe that we offer an outstanding combination of hands-on learning and organized teaching.
Our programs provide excellent opportunities for trainees to teach, do research and engage in stimulating academic endeavors. In addition, we have significant involvement with our School of Medicine including several courses and clerkships either run by faculty members within our Department or with our faculty members prominently featured.
Emory Radiology has a long history of excellence regarding our educational programs, but we do not rest on those laurels. We are constantly looking for ways to improve, innovate, lead and develop. Hopefully you will want to join us!
